Go to our Create Your Pouch Now page, enter your information, and select the options you’d like to apply to your pouch. A 3D version of your pouch will be created for you to approve, prior to placing your order. We suggest downloading our vector print ready dielines, prior to building your custom pouch. This will ensure your artwork layout flows easily into our production system. This will limit the number of adjustments we apply prior to production. Do not make any adjustments or scale the vector dielines as this will cause delays and additional fees to bring them back to print ready files.
Bottom gusset pouches (AKA Stand-Up Pouch) have an additional material panel between the front and back panels connecting them at the bottom. This panel allows the pouch to expand as you load your cannabis product into the final pouch. This creates the “stand-up” feature of the pouch. These pouches are great for products that require more inside space to hold the product. We recommend adding a hang hole to all style pouches, so the retailer has the option of shelf standing your product or hanging it for retail sale.
Lay flat pouches (AKA 3-Side Seal or Fold Over Bottom Pouch) do not have the added material panel between the front and back panel. These pouches are designed for smaller products that do not need an expansion area, have rigid or semi-rigid packaging or for smaller single serving products. The front and back of the pouch remain close to one another so smaller items remain in a more stable position when packaged correctly. These pouches are generally a little less expensive as they use less raw material and require less ink coverage to produce. These style pouches are great for vape cartridges or other pre-packaged cannabis products.
Dielines are created in the same direction the print web is laid out on the printing presses. Do not rotate or change the layout of the dielines. The dielines indicate which side is the front, back and, if applicable, the bottom gusset panel.
Cannabis is a not simply a food product that you can add preservatives too. Therefore, the packaging requires a higher barrier than most products. You package your product at the prefect time and our high barrier materials are designed to maintain that aroma and freshness you and your customer’s demand. We offer 4 specialized high barrier materials for you to choose from. Each of them is designed to bring your product to market with peace of mind your customers will keep coming back.
Shipping is calculated at the end of your order and added to your cart prior to check out.
If you have a resale certificate or a tax-exempt status, please notify us when placing your order on the Create My Pouch Now page. If neither of these apply, tax will be added to the final order when you check out.
PouchCannabis does not offer co-packing services.
We produce all our pouches as per the guidance of 16 CFR, Part 1700 of the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, which is the main regulation that most states adhere to. It’s your responsibility to ensure your packaging design and pouches adhere to the State and local laws in which your packaging will be sold. We highly recommend checking with your state cannabis regulators prior to ordering your cannabis packaging.
We will produce your pouches as laid out on the dielines. There are excepted manufacturing tolerances that may occur during the production of your pouches. Normally, all dimensions are met, within +/- 1.25” of the dieline.
Yes. We double cut all our pouches so that the artwork is trimmed at the bleed area as marked on the dieline. Do not place any required art, text, or information in the bleed area as this will be trimmed off during the converting process. Your art does not have to be mirrored on the left and right side of the design, like required by most convertors. We take the extra step for you to ensure you don’t have an unsightly border on the edges of the pouches.
There are 2 ways you can design your artwork as per our print ready requirements:
Download one of our premade dielines from the Pouch Options and Dieline Page. Create your artwork using Adobe Illustrator, according to the artwork requirements listed on this How To page or download the Artwork Requirement pdf. Go to the Create My Pouch Now page and upload your artwork when prompted to do so. We’ll look at what you’ve provided and if everything looks good, we’ll start producing your order to ship in 10 days or less from final approval.
Not sure how to create your own artwork? We offer a complete design service from one of our in-house professional designers. Visit our Contact Us and we’ll schedule a call with you to go over a few simple questions. Our design team will create your entire design and get your pouch order rolling for you. Complete design work is at a rate of $80/hour with a minimum of 1 hour.
All art files should be created and uploaded in both Adobe Illustrator Vector and convertible pdf formats. This allows our design team to adjust if needed.
• All art MUST be created in CMYK. Black must be 100% black (K set to 100 in the CMYK color percentage color mode). White ink or layers can be a spot white. If you chose a clear barrier material for your pouch, then we suggest adding a second white layer to ensure an opaque area behind the other colors of your artwork. All other colors must be in CMYK format. It’s best to call out Pantone colors on your final artwork. • Text or fonts MUST be changed to Outlined format. (Create Outlines) We suggest keeping a text and font file for future reference if needed by our team. • Ensure to download the dieline from our site to ensure a proper layout of your art. Do not add additional bleed to the art files. We have bleed, text and safe areas built into the vector dielines for your reference. • If you have linked images in your art files, they must be embedded. The minimum image quality is 300dpi. Please keep copies of native and raw images for future use if our team needs them.
Absolutely and we encourage that. A printed or clear gusset is a great way to catch attention when the customer lays the pouch down at home or picks it up and looks at the entire packaging design, which they do!
NOTE: When creating a clear or printed gusset, it is important to add .125”-.25” of bleed from the front and back art panels, into the gusset area. This ensures the art remains on the front and back panels during production. Normal manufacturing tolerance allows for slight movement during the converting stage.
No. Due to normal manufacturing processes, there can be slight variances in the punch and seal area. If you’re creating art from our dieline, please ensure no text or critical cannabis compliance information if closer than .125” to any portion of the hang hole, tear notch or safe area of the pouch.
We want you to be fully compliant with your custom pouch. All states have some form of cannabis or CBD labeling and packaging laws, and few are the same. It is the responsibility of the customer (you) to ensure all aspects of your final pouch design adhere to any State, County or Municipal cannabis laws or regulations. We hold no liability for the end use of your pouches. If your packaging is going to be sold in multiple states, we advise you to check with cannabis labeling and packaging laws in each state your product will or may be sold in. We offer standard and Child Resistant press to close zippers on our pouches.
You can order as little as 1 pouch or as many as 50,000 from our standard size pouches listed on the Pouch Options and Dieline Page. If you’re looking for more than 50,000 pouches, Contact Us and we’ll work with you on orders of this size or larger.

Yes. After our team reviews and sets up the final production files, we will send you proofs to approve. Once you approve the proof, we will start the production process. This normally takes about 10 days to complete. Changes after the proof is approved may incur additional charges.
